Der Arzt wird die Therapie beginnen indem er Sie ruhig und entspannt lagert, d.h. meist liegen lässt.
Beim Einstich entsteht eine minimale unangenehme Empfindung, die beim Tieferführen der Nadel in der Regel
verschwindet. Erst wenn die Nadel an ihrem endgültigen Platz ist, soll ein unterschiedlich starkes, dumpfes
Gefühl entstehen, was mir der Nadelwirkung gekoppelt ist und "de qi" genannt wird. Nach einigen Minuten lässt
dieses Gefühl nach, so dass der Patient ohne grössere Sensationen während einer Behandlungsdauer von ca 20 Minuten
liegt. Es werden immer so wenig Nadeln wie möglich gestochen, während einer Sitzung maximal 10-12 .
Eine spezielle Akupunkturuntersuchung beim Arzt ist notwendig.
Der Arzt kann in der Regel nicht nach einer telefonischen oder schriftlichen Voranfrage die Erfolgsaussichten beurteilen, sondern
er muss erst eine genaue spezielle Untersuchung (Diagnostik mit Hilfe von Methoden der Akupunktur) durchführen.
Manche Kranke empfinden nach der Akupunktur sofort Erleichterung, andere brauchen Tage dazu. Üblicherweise benötigt man etwa vier
oder fünf Behandlungen, im Abstand von etwa einer Woche, bevor eine Besserung verspürt wird. Es gibt Patienten, die bemerken so
etwas wie eine schwebende Leichtigkeit nach einer Behandlung, und fast alle fühlen sich danach sehr entspannt.
Sowohl die Ohr- Hand- als auch die Körperakupunktur sind sehr wirkungsvolle Behandlungsformen, die, wenn sie von geschulten Ärzten
durchgeführt werden, kaum Risiken und Nebenwirkungen haben.
Das Einstechen der dünnen Akupunkturnadeln verursacht einen geringen Schmerz.
Manche Menschen erschrecken bei dem Gedanken, dass Nadeln in ihre Haut eingestochen werden sollen. Üblicherweise verwendet man
aber sehr feine Nadeln, daher ist eine Akupunkturbehandlung gut zu ertragen. Der geringe Schmerz
beim Einstich einer Akupunkturnadel ist vergleichsweise viel schwächer als derjenige, wenn der Arzt eine Spritze gibt.
Vor Beginn der Therapie muss eine entsprechende Diagnose gestellt werden. Erst dann können Funktionsstörungen von Organen
akupunkturgemäss behandelt werden.
